Bow tie and Neck tie
The Bow tie is a fashion accessory worn by men on Special Occasion parties or for Formal Dressing events.
The bow tie originated in Croatia during the 17th Century. The Croats mercenaries used a scarf around the neck to keep the collar of their shirts together (closed). This method to keep the collar together was promptly know as “Cravat” and adopted by the French upper class by the 18th and 19th Century.
Necktie.
By the end of the 19th Century the ends of the bow tie grew longer and longer… and the “Necktie” was born. The Bow tie slowly went out of fashion.
